Cesar Molina, MD Hand SurgeonMeet Fellow Cesar Molina

Today we are happy to welcome Fellow, Dr. Cesar Molina, to the Christine M. Kleinert Institute. Born in Bogota, Colombia, Dr. Molina grew up in Brighton, England, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Dr. Molina completed his medical degree at Universidad de Los Andes School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. After that he travelled to Nashville, TN to complete his general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

When we asked Dr. Molina why he was interested in the Christine M. Kleinert Institute, his response was that it was due to the ...“world renowned training fellowship for surgery of the hand and microsurgery. Diversity amongst staff and fellows themselves. Also, high operative case load and variety.”

Working with hand patients interests Dr. Molina, he said because he has “...come to understand how anatomically minute changes can have a significant impact on a patients' quality of life.”

Dr. Molina shared with us that one of the reasons he enjoys working with Kleinert Kutz physicians and staff is that our program coordinator and educational coordinator are wonderful and make the fellows’ lives easy. He also stated that, “Attendings are very approachable, willing to teach and always provide constructive criticism.” At CMKI, those words make us smile!

We like to know what inspires our Fellows, and when we asked Dr. Molina what inspires him, he shared this quote with us from Muhammad Ali: “Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.”

Dr. Molina good-naturedly shared with us that his biggest challenge has been time management, and when we asked him how he was meeting that challenge, he replied, “I am still working on it…” We understand whole-heartedly, this is a demanding career!

To de-stress from a day-in-the-life, Dr. Molina enjoys playing tennis and long-distance running.

Our hand specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call (502) 561-4263 for hand emergencies or to schedule an appointment.
