Pumpkin Carving Safety Tips

Pumpkins are very tough and usually require a sharp blade for cutting. Hand injuries occur when using kitchen knives to carve and decorate pumpkins. Most knives used to carve the pumpkin, including kitchen knives, lack a safety guard to protect hands from slipping down the blade increasing the risk of serious injury.

Kleinert Kutz recommends alternatives to carving, such as painting or decorating the pumpkin with stickers or using specially designed items.
